Update: one year out from purchase, March 2023, best router I've owned in over 20 years. Never drops connection, consistently strong signal strength. Once setup, you forget it's even there. Speeds 375+ mbps. Do you need more. I don't think so.-----------------------------------------------------------------------Update July 12, 2020: After owning this router for 5 months now I have yet to have a dropped signal as compared to my previous router that had to be reset almost weekly. The signal never ever wanes as with my previous and my speeds suddenly jumped from an average 230 mbps to 350-370 mbps. Not sure if my server finally recognized my upgrade to wifi-6 or if something clicked in the router, but my surfing speeds are incredibly fast -and they were plenty fast before- with no buffering at all, or very very little on certain sites. It is definitely the site not my routers signal strength and speed. Simply put I do not see how you can go wrong purchasing this router, considering it's performance and price it has been a spectacular purchase for me.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Buying the AX5400 as opposed to the AX3000 was probably a bit of overkill for me but the price difference makes either one or both a great value. Setup was easy. Combined with the AX3000 PCIe adapter, signal strength is strong and consistent and the speed remains fast and steady. Going with TP Link over previous major brand router I used for many yrs was an easy value pick for the performance this router offers at a very competitive price. In the 3 months that I've owned it I've reset it only once and that was first thing in the morning, so it may have been due to an overnight power or server issue. I recommend ensuring you have the latest firmware and go to router page and make a few adjustments to make sure you are getting peak performance. Smart wifi will show both bands running on a single signal so if you want to separate and see both bands you will need to select that, etc... If you want network storage just plug it in that's easy enough.
