I bought these to replace my existing mic system, which was a very nice and much more expensive system, but also 20 years old and without the ability to change frequencies (which caused problems when we moved to a new venue). I've only had it for a couple of weeks now, but after some teething problems I am quite happy with the purchase. At under $100 per channel it has a lot of nice features which normally command a price of several hundred dollars per channel:1) it has adjustable frequencies with a scan mode to find the best frequency automatically (my main concern)2) it is UHF, true diversity (the product description doesn't specify the later part, but it is in the manual), supporting up to 20 channels3) it is rack mountable with antennas on the front (which makes the mount easier in my case)4) it has an individual output per channel (as well as a mixed output), which allows me to make per-channel adjustments in the mixer5) it has a little display on the body pack to indicate the channel (removing the need to put extra markers on the body packs)6) it works fine on rechargeable AA batteries (which makes life a lot simpler for me)I do have some serious concerns about quality control: In total they send me three units with six body packs, two of which arrived broken and had to be replaced. Upon contacting the seller they immediately send me a replacement body pack free of charge (directly contact the seller, don't use the amazon return mechanism that will cost you). So definitely order this early enough that you can get a replacement unit if you need it. Also, the gain adjustment knob is slightly displaced on some body packs with respect to the casing, making it (somewhat) hard to use. Still, after I got these things sorted out I had (almost) no further problems. When it comes to sound quality they don't seem quite as good as my old system, which is probably mostly due to the headsets that come with it. It may be Ok for some applications, but if you care about sound quality you might as well plan to buy separate headsets for them. I haven't tried my old headsets yet, as they use a different connector. Be on the lookout for that, I had ordered a guitar adapter cable and it came with the wrong connector as well, so I had to send it back. I also had one headset break within a few hours of use, but I don't consider this much of a loss as I am planning to replace the headsets anyways. If I could put together a wish list, it would be:A) do more quality control before sending the units outB) have the option to buy the unit without headsets, for those of us who plan to buy separate headsets anywaysC) turn down the gain before you ship it (trivial to adjust once you get it, but it may confuse novice users as the sound before adjusting is horribly distorted)D) have a native English speaker review the manual. it is quite hard to read in places.Still, given the price and the features I decided to give it five stars. You may have to invest some extra effort up-front and maybe buy extra headsets, but once that is done it works nicely and you saved yourself a bundle.
