I'm delighted that when I want to do some trimming, I don't have to deal with stale gasoline, buying new gas, mixing it with oil, and then trying to get a two-cycle engine running. That's the reason I got this trimmer.The four page "manual" (see photos) is not much help. It's incomplete seems to apply to a different model. This one is black, not green. And the manual doesn't mention the installation of the wire guard or the handle. I was confused by the handle, since the size of the clamp on it suggests mounting it to the extending rod, but that would prevent you from adjusting the length of the rod. With a bit of effort, though, it can be put onto the larger tube.I charged up a battery and immediately went out to try it. In less than five minutes, the plastic blade snapped off and flew who-knows-where. It seems that I had run into an English Ivy vine that was sneaking into the yard, and that was too much for the plastic blade.The plastic blade breaking so easily wouldn't be a problem on a standard string trimmer, where I would just let out a bit more string and keep working. On this design, I have to get out the tools and install a new blade. As it only comes with 5 of the plastic blades, it won't take long to run out.I put on the metal blade and went back out attacking the English Ivy. That works fine, though you have to be careful not to get too close to a wall or tree. I haven't tried out the rotary saw blade, yet.There is no indication in the manual on where or how you can get replacement parts. I went on Amazon and found there are a number of companies selling the replacement blades. While looking for those, I happened to notice a very similar-looking trimmer from another company, but at 2/3 the price of this one.The product arrived quickly and was well protected in transit. This is a battery powered weedeater. The product comes with two batteries that are 21 V each. The charger quickly charge the batteries in a few hours. Overall the weedeater works well in light duty situation‘s. Simple edging of low grass and weeds etc. It did not perform well on taller weeds. However if you have a well-maintained landscape and just need to occasionally hit a few areas around then this product works well. It’s also easy for my wife to use as there’s no gas or cranking an engine.
