This product works exactly like I hoped it would. Put the remote speaker on my night stand and now I don't have to rely on the TV volume when I go to bed at night. The unit has three different sound modes for you to choose from. You pick the clearest one for your own liking. Too many nice features on this unit to name. I'm using the Digital / Optical option and the voices are crystal clear! Love it! The one option I really like is the auto volume off. The speaker will enter standby mode automatically after 10 minutes without a signal (Great for those who like to use a sleep timer on their TV.) Extremely happy with this purchase!We like to step out on the patio and still watch the business news and other shows and sports on TV through a large picture window. Its always bothered us that we couldn't hear the sound and didn't want to use wired speakers outside. This little portable works great at our distance, about 30 feet, once you figure out how to make it operate with your TV. It has a lot various hook-ups arrangements depending on your equipment, but we got it after about a half hour of trial and error and rereading the instructions. I wish it had better speakers, but it is a decent value and works adequately. You could probably rig a better set of mini speakers if you're handy with that sort of thing. As for durability, we've only had it 5 weeks, so can't comment on that. Seems like it should last a long time given its construction.This item works great My husband no longer has to blast the tv to hear, the speaker unit it right by him and he can hear everything, and I can stay in the same room and watch tvNot hi-fi sound but I didn't expect that from this unit. It works fine, no problems installing. Easy for old fingers to turn on/off and adjust volume with single, big, old-fashioned round knob. So simple; they should all be made like this. Am using A/C adapter so recharging is not an issue. Note in manual: if using A/C adapter full time you should remove the battery for safety.Perfect when you have a small house and don't want to blast the volume on the TV. This is my 2nd one, had the first one for 4 years!! Love itA GREAT PRODUCT. EASY TO SET UP AND USE AND IT WORKS.Purchased a blue one for my 82 y.o. mother. Will buy another for her house. Easy set up. Works as expected & hoped for. Puts the speaker & easy turn knob volume control by her to listen at the level needed w/o blasting me out. Sound quality is on point. I like that there are two plug and play receivers. One is by the TV and one by mom's chair for easy access & listening. Researched several, purchased this for the charging or plug in option and we are quite pleased. Get one. You will be too!Really like this unit. I bought it strictly to take with me when I’m traveling because I cannot hear the TV from across the room in some hotel rooms. I am hard of hearing but some hotels has a volume control limit on their TV’s that you can turn them up as much as you want and the volume only goes loud to a certain level and stops, the volume control graph bar goes to max but the actually volume really doesn’t reach that level. This is where the hunt went for this unit. I have a pair of wireless speakers already in my bedroom that I bought years ago so I knew what to look for; the problem was finding it because all the external speakers are Bluetooth now. Being that it’s not my TV and the hotels I would have to know if the TV is Bluetooth compatible, not really a good option to bank on. The volume control is very loud all the way at max. Not sure what other reviews noted that it wasn’t, I can’t even listen to it at max. You have three tone levels, treble, normal, and bass settings. I first had it on the bass setting but it sounded somewhat muffled at times and reverberated. Switched it to normal and it sounded so much better and clearer, think that setting just cuts the high end of the 20K frequency spectrum to make it sound more bassy but it doesn’t work for me, so I keep it on normal.It’s a good solid portable speaker. The features that I opted for when buying it was the independent volume control and all the cable connections to hook it up (will get back to this one), plus the ability to plug both units to a source individually with a power adapter. It does come with rechargeable batteries but knowing you can plug the speaker up to a source and not worry about battery life is a bonus.Okay…about all those cable hook ups that comes with this unit. This is the complete hook up package and very glad I got this unit verse some of the others I was looking at. You might not think you need all those cable connections but it’s good to have them, then not to have them at all. Case in point, this past weekend I was at a hotel over the weekend my usual optical hook up and cable output on the TV to the speaker base unit would not output any sound to the speaker. Even going to ‘menu settings’ for audio/sound on the TV it would not give me the option to output or turn on the output through the optical link on the TV. Called the front desk to have someone come up to reprogram the audio settings to get sound out for externals speakers and found out since they are using a TV provider everything; even the TV controls is controlled through the providers box and it’s nothing that can be fixed on their side. (Explains the limited volume control on some of these hotel TV’s) Roadblock…lucky for me I bought all my cables that came with this unit and swapped the optical cable out for the 3.5mm phono cable and plugged it into the ‘Speaker Out’ on the back of the TV and the receiving end in the speaker base unit. I’m really not that smart and had to look online to find out I could do this with this TV (LG model) but just having that 3.5mm plug was all good and can’t stress enough if you move around from TV – TV and housing bring all your cables with you as back up, it’s all you need to get this unit working as advertised.With this product you get both speakers and headphone as alternative ways of listening to an enhanced quality sound. And you can connect it to many different souces, not only a TV, but many other devices, as it comes with a variety of connecting cables.I am extremely happy to have bought this speaker. Sound is very clear and we finally can watch TV and understand the dialogues. Music and other sounds are usually so much louder than the dialogues, that not even increasing the TV volume is enough to catch what people are saying.Also, I am amazed at how much technology expertise, sense and care have been put into this device. The design is so versatile ! It includes a very light headphone (you don't need to use it you don't want to) + 2 detachable pieces : the base and the speaker.The base is what you connect to the TV (or any other device you would like to listen to, provided that device has one of the compatible sound outputs). You connect the base to the TV with one the several cables provided (you choose the cable depending on the output on your TV you decide to connect it)As for the speaker, you can place it onto the base and keep the whole near your TV. The energy needed by the speaker will then be provided by the base.But you usually don't do that and you take the speaker with you (it has a practical handle on the top of it) so you can listen to it near you. In this last case, the speaker has its own charger if you want to connect it to the mains.When you want to charge the speaker, you can choose between placing it onto the base or connect it to the mains with its own separate charger.Additionally, in case you want to use the speaker on its own and it happens to be discharged, the product has been designed to have a spare battery placed inside the speaker. This spare battery is charged whenever you charge the speaker. The spare battery is therefore always ready so you can continue to use a discharged speaker without connecting it to the mains.As if this wasn't enough, the speaker has a sound output 3.5mm jack for connecting any headphone (one light underchin headphone is in fact provided with the product) so you get use the clear sound obtained by the speaker but listen to it through a headphone and therefore not disturbing other people. If you connect a 3.5mm jack splitter you could connect additional headphones and share the sound with someone else.So much care and thought put into the design (let alone the technical quality of the sound, which really improves the understandability of the dialogues) is accompanied with similar care in the presentation of the product. There is an unmistakeable effort to help the user to succesfully put the product into use, like the small caps that cover the endings of optical cable : they are attached to the cable to avoid the possibility of not removing them before use (they are transparent) but also prevents them to get lost as they remain attached and reusable.I confess I admire the hard work behind this product, as well as I have been gladly surprised by the sound it provides.I've had this for over a year now and it is performing extremely well solving the issue of the TV being too loud for other watchers. I've located mine on a shelf behind my usual chair so that I can adjust the volume to suit me whilst not deafening others in the room. The headphones are a good idea and are lightweight so not uncomfortable. On occasions I have experienced an echo effect when using it with the TV's soundbar but this rarely happens. If I'm watching on my own I usually mute the TV's sound. Just recently the pairing signal has been lost when first turned on but I've found this is easily remedied by returning the speaker to it's base for a short while. This issue may be my TV settings as the volume and mute buttons on one of the remote controls have stopped working. Overall a vast improvement.update 26/9/22: The Samsung TV started doing strange things updating, resulting with my losing some settings one of which was the bluetooth connection to this speaker which until now has been perfect. I found the solution in the questions asked in this forum where the sound setting on the tv needs to be PCM rather than DIGITAL. Solved the problem for me and hopefully others. Still 5* item.The LG TV I use this on was replaced by a Sony Bravia in my lounge which has fantastic sound that has an option to bring out speech, but very costly. Even moved to a smaller room the speech on the LG was still overcome by "background" music or just actors mumbling. I paid £350 for a soundbar plus £40 for an optical cable which was a waste of money.For £102 the Simolio would have saved me a fortune if I had found it earlier.The instructions are very in depth but basically just plug the base into the back of the tv ( used the optical one) and the speaker into a socket, leave 3 hours to charge. (go shopping) I checked the settings recommended on the TV but it had auto set them. Then just pick a programme turn it on and listen. WOW! It works with my Fire stick and Freeview. I have some older tvs in other rooms so on the to do list is to use the other 2 cables on them and see if I can just move the base and speaker to wherever I need to use it. The speaker sits on the base and can recharge on it too but I usually have it closer to me, even when its not on charger it lasts ...well not sure as it has never run out and I only put it on charge when I remember. If I have it on too loud for my partner I just use the headphones which are even better sound. It has everything included for every eventuality. I JUST LOVE IT!!! Apart from that I have never had to turn the volume up anywhere near max. so no biggie really.Now I can watch without subtitles and laugh in the face of movie makers who try to drown out speech with loud music.I did not know these hearing speakers were available I would have had one long agoThis speaker is fantastic as you have it next to you it is nice and compact and it also has a headset if you need one you need to charge it everyday if using all the time and you can also purchase a battery for it which you charge.It is so nice to hear the tv without a headsetand you can have it as loud as you likeYou can still use the headset when neededYou get all the bits you need to plug it in to the tv optical plugI also have a sound bar which is optical so I used an optical splitter and the sound quality is really good both on the headset alone or the speaker alone or sound bar and speakerTogether.For some one with hard of hearing I would highly recommend this speaker as it’s great to be able to hear tv properly but still can use headset if neededWhoever thought of this brilliant idea deserves a medalI bought this for my father in-law as his hearing had got so bad he found it hard to distinguish between background sound and speech when watching tv, even with hearing aids. If other people in the room started talking everything was muffled. He would also have the tv set to the highest volume, which his neighbours didn't appreciate either. He tried a soundbar, but that didn't help.This speaker had an immediate impact, he could hear every word being spoken while also enjoying the other sounds. The speakers responsiveness is so impressive there is no echo and no one else in the room know its on. This has completely changed my father in-laws life. The TV can now be on volume 20 instead of 100, meaning none else in the room has to suffer and his neighbours are no-longer being disturbed.The two mains adapters are perfect, meaning he doesn't need to worry about the battery running low, mid film or programme. The sound is crystal clear and as mentioned there is no echo. Fantastic product all round.
