I bought the X32's shortly before they announced the X42's and returned my X32's so that I could buy the newer model. One of my main problems with the x32's was a constant white noise when there was no sound coming through as well as popping and clicking noise anytime I used my cell phone (which was running through wifi). The X42's COMPLETELY eliminate not only the popping and clicking, but also the annoying white noise. The sound quality is great, the headphones are comfortable, and overall I am extremely pleased with the product. It is a huge improvement on the X32's.One issue that popped up is that these have a more limited range than the X32's. I tend to wear these while watching TV that I dont need to actually watch (like the news and other things that can be listened to) while I do things around the house at night. They completely lose signal pretty quickly, and definitely do not have the range that the X32's did.I was able to partially resolve the problem by placing the transmitter on top of my TV (rather than underneath), but still lose signal after a bit.I cant knock the company for this though, because these are designed for gaming, not for wandering around the house. Thus, I do not expect to be able to walk around at will without losing signal. When used for their intended purpose, these are awesome headphones for the price and convenience of going wireless. As to build quality - a noticed some reviewers think that they feel cheap. True, they are very light, and not burly sturdy headphones. However, I do NOT want something heavy sitting on my head. The lightness is a plus in my opinion, and there do not appear to be in tradeoffs in performance.
