I have a Sony Xperia Z so being vain, I wanted a headset that would ideally work well with the device (the promotional material by Sony used an Xperia Z). NFC works great with the Xperia Z out of the box. If you have another non sony handset with NFC. Look in the play store for Sony NFC Easy Connect. It will allow pairing of bluetooth devices with NFC.The sound quality out of these headphones is permissible. If you use a Sony Xperia Z or other android handset, The default Walkman Music player is horrible with this device. In the walkman music player app, sound seems to be post processed a lot and comes out just wrong. I use Apollo Music player (not in play store) and now it comes out great. Bass is controlled and the range from mids to high sound accurate and not overemphasized (no dsp needed). Sound quality if already on par with a 50-75 dollar headphone in my opinion.Since getting it 2 and a half months ago. I have not found a need to charge it very often (5-6 times total so far).I pretty much use it everyday averaging about 1-2 hours a day. With my phone in the dock, I get pretty good range and can move across my small apartment unhindered with clear skip free audio. My apartment does not have a lot of walls to mess with the signalCaveats:On my unit, sometimes the spring loaded next track slider gets stuck (I live in a very cold place and use it as earmuffs in the winter) not a big deal, just slide it up then down. When it's warm and I'm indoors it works no problem. While walking, When I turn my head to the right (80-90degrees) with my phone in my right front pants pocket, the signal gets attenuated, resulting in skipping. Likely because of the bluetooth receiver being in the right earcup and now having to travel through my body.Headset mode works fine using my phone. It doesn't work on my computer running Windows 8.1 with Atheros bluetooth driver (Acer 3830tg). It causes my audio service to crash and I can't restart it short of a reboot. When you pair it to Windows, two entries are added in Sound PlayBack devices: DR-Btn200 Headphones and DR-BTN200 headset. Headphones works fine but not headset. Headset also exists in Recording devices (which is the part that usually crashes the Volume App.
